Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@LEEn@ was born on the 22nd of July 1992. She is an American actress, singer and producer. Gomez started her acting career in 2002 with the television show for children Barney & Friends. In her teens, she rose to prominence for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez has also been a part of the television series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she will appear in The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's film franchise from 2012 to 2022. Gomez was executive producer for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Undocumented (2018). Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (21-21). The latter received Gomez critical praise, and nominations for a Golden Globe Award, and as producer as well as and a Primetime Emmy Award . Gomez, who was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. Each album made the top ten spots of the US Billboard 200. Rare (2020) the album that was her third studio album was her third straight number one in the US. The lead track, "Lose You To Love Me" is the first single to be ranked number one in both the US and Canada. She also released Revelacion in Spanish in 2017, which was a big hit and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won numerous accolades including the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. Additionally, she broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the top 100 influential people around the world in 2020. She is a popular social media star and is the most-followed musician and actress on Instagram.
