
From the mid-1990s onwards, the actor enjoyed a wildly successful time as a regular guest on the popular sitcom Friends which starred him as the romantic interest of Monica Geller and receiving an Emmy nomination for the part. Selleck played a major role in a variety of TV movies in the new millennium. These included the Jesse Stone series in which he played an New England police chief. The actor was also the executive producer of the series and earned an Emmy nomination for his part. Selleck is also a police commissioner who is part of a multigenerational family of police officers in the drama Blue Bloods which premiered on CBS in 2010.Selleck was eventually able to return to the big screen. He was also a part of the critically acclaimed comedy Three Men and a Baby together with Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg. The comedy went on to become the highest-grossing movie.
